The Digital Accelerator Scheme is delivered and run by the University of Lincoln (UoL) on behalf of City of Lincoln Council (COLC). COLC is a joint data controller, along with the UoL, and the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS).

City of Lincoln Council and the University of Lincoln are committed to being transparent about how they collect and use personal data and to meeting their data protection obligations.
The information which we are required to collect and process includes:
Your personal information will not be shared with any third party other than as below and our data processor unless required by law for example for the prevention and detection of fraud.
Local Authorities are required to collect information from businesses receiving these grant payments, and will be expected to account for how the funding has been spent. Grant recipients are advised that they may be contacted for research purposes, and that their data will be shared with City of Lincoln council and central government, the department for Business Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) for research and evaluation purposes and HMRC.
Processing of your data is necessary for compliance with a legal obligation to which City of Lincoln Council and University of Lincoln are subject. The Digital Accelerator Scheme is government funded, which requires COLC and UoL to collect and process a range of details about the applicants.
Your information may be shared internally, including with project staff and managers and IT staff if access to the data is necessary for performance of their roles.
COLC and UoL may also share your data with third parties that process data on their behalfand which provide services to COLC and applicants as part of the Digital Accelerator Scheme. COLC and UoL do not permit third parties to use the data for any other purpose. Your data will also be shared with the National Fraud Initiative (NFI) for fraud prevention purposes.
City of Lincoln Council and the University of Lincoln will retain the data pertaining to Digital Accelerator Scheme applicants until at least 31st of March 2032.
Data held by COLC and UoL is securely destroyed at the end of the retention period.
City of Lincoln Council and the University of Lincoln take the security of your data seriously. The organisations have internal policies and controls in place to try to ensure that your data is not lost, accidentally destroyed, misused or disclosed, and is not accessed except by employees in the performance of their duties.
Where COLC or UoL engages third parties to process personal data on their behalf, they do so on the basis of written instructions, are under a duty of confidentiality and are obliged to implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to ensure the security of data.
COLC and UoL will not transfer your data to countries outside the European Economic Area.
You have several rights in relation to the information that we hold about you:

City of Lincoln Council and the University of Lincoln do not use automated decision-making in the Digital Accelerator Scheme.
You have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) if you are not satisfied with the way that the Council has handled your information.
